Horrible gasping episodes
Occassionally (every few weeks) I wake up suddenly, really gasping for breath then lots of coughing. My GP says it's not sleep apnoea (phone consultation). I'm confused as it can be very frightening when it happens. I have progressive multiple sclerosis with reduced mobility; not a snorer and not overweight, consistently low blood pressure but have frequent episodes of racing and irregular pulse. I try to always sleep on my side. What can I do to relieve these horrible gasping episodes?
Many thanks for your help,
Rachel
