Re: Bulkamid
The best data on bulkamid comes from this study
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31479396/
It shows that bulkamid has a high satisfaction and cure rate but not as high as other more invasive options.

Re: Bulkamid
I had bulkamid injections earlier on this year. It is a very straightforward procedure but unfortunately the success rate isn't great. I will have the same operation done again as the success rate can be better second time around. It is sensible to try this option first before having major invasive surgery.

Re: Bulkamid
I agree with Mr Harding. Injectables are not as effective as some other forms of surgical intervention for stress incontinence. Bulkamid seems to be better tolerated by the tissues than previous therapies, but we do need to have further data in the future before suggesting it as a first-line therapy as an alternative to other treatments such as sling surgery with autologous tissue (your own tissue). Currently, as everyone will appreciate, synthetic sling materials have been suspended in the UK. Previous operations such as colposuspension produce significant potential long term problems with prolapse although there has been a trend towards the further use of this surgical technique.
