Re: Adult Acne

Finding the right solution to your acne problem is especially difficult because everyone's skin is different.
Did you know there are many solutions available right in your home that you may not be aware of?

• Make an egg yolk mask. It may seem like an odd way of treating acne but it can actually help to remove excess oils from the skin. Apply egg yolk with a cotton ball or pad to your spots and leave on for 15-20 minutes before washing thoroughly with cold water.

• Mix lemon juice and rose water together, apply over face with a cotton ball, and leave for half an hour and then rinse. Try this for 20-25 days.

• Take one tablespoon of sour cream, one tablespoon of yoghurt, one tablespoon of grind oatmeal mixed with 3-4 drops of lemon juice and apply to the face, rinsing off after 10-15 minutes.

Scientific evidence has shown that the presence of certain vitamins or their deficiency in the diet is closely linked to the development or regression of acne. This group of vitamins can be called “acne vitamins” and include (but is not limited to) vitamin A, vitamin C, Vitamin E and some vitamins of B complex.

Re: Adult Acne

*Wash the afflicted area twice a day with an over-the-counter acne wash containing benzoyl peroxide or cyclical acid. If you have acne on your face, wash your entire face. If you have acne on another part of your body, like your chest or back, wash the entire chest or back in the shower

*Apply a spot treatment containing the same active ingredient as your acne wash to blemishes before bed. The active ingredient, either benzoyl peroxide or cyclical acid, will dry out oil on the skin overnight, making the pimple shrink.

*Consult a doctor about a topical prescription medication if your breakouts are not helped by over-the-counter treatments. Your doctor may prescribe a medication derived from vitamin A, states the Mayo Clinic. These medications may include adapalene, tretinoin or tazarotene.

*Take an oral antibiotic if acne does not respond to prescription topical treatments alone. Your doctor may prescribe an oral antibiotic for several weeks to clear bacteria on the skin.

Re: Adult Acne

Acne can also be related to the liver and the gallbladder dysfunction! I'm 35. and have been suffering from acne for a very long time. I tested many treatments and creams before but no positive results. Then I decided to try a liver cleanse and it worked! All the spots on my face had nearly disappeared and I felt my skin was softer! This natural process is described in iraisemyhealth.info. When I think of all those gallstones that I expelled when doing this detox, I understand how much it's important to take care of our liver! Hope it will help some people like it helped me.

Re: Adult Acne

Hi all. Thoughts go out to all that have this terrible condition.

I had acne for over 30 years, from when I was 12. I had bad asthma as a toddler, and back in the early 70s all they really gave me was corticosteroids. I'm still looking into whether this had the effect on me later of causing acne.

It's a terrible feeling to have acne as an adult in their 20s, and 30s, but it's downright unfair into your 40s! I got tired of not getting an answer from Doctors, skin specialists, naturopaths, herbalists, etc. So started a dietary experiment and found what works. I've helped a few people now get rid of long term acne, which is a nice feeling to give back. Many asked me to write a book, which I did. For me it was diet, plain and simple.

Cheers.

There has been much in the press recently about the apparent increase in adult acne. Are you an adult who suffers with acne, oily skin or a regular breakout of spots? Did you suffer with acne or spots as a teenager or is this the first time you've had problems? Do you find that stress affects your skin? Tell us what has helped or hindered you.
What helps me is antibacterial gel. I use it for spots.
