If you suffer with adult acne, you need to recognize that your condition is not uncommon. It's a misconception that teenagers are the only people who get acne. The truth is that adults, both male and female, have to deal with acne breakouts. It doesn't matter how mild or serious your acne is, there are solutions available to you, and we're going to share some of them with you.

Your adult acne isn't any more fun than the acne breakouts you had as an adolescent. In some respects, it may feel really a whole lot worse, as you may not have expected to deal with pimples as an adult. Suffice to say, there's no need to lose heart, because as an adult your acne breakouts can be addressed in various ways. Your acne breakouts are a skin disorder that has an effect on people of pretty much every age.

There are a large number of treatments for acne, ranging from products you can buy at the drug store to laser sessions to remove scarring. Read on to learn which one of the popular options for fighting your acne will work most effectively for you. Adult acne can have many causes, but it's always an unwelcome condition. In some cases you may have serious scar tissue that requires the help of a skin specialist. Nevertheless, much of the time you can treat acne breakouts successfully with home remedies or products you buy over the counter.

Adult acne is not something that any adult wants to have to deal with; after all, weren't zits and pimples bad enough when you were younger? Still, this is a very typical issue, and sometimes the most effective treatments will be a little bit different when you utilize them to fight adult acne. Adult acne sufferers would do well to test out some of the following remedies to cure their own acne breakouts. You can't cure moderate to serious acne breakout simply by washing your face a lot. However, it is still something that will help you in your efforts to clear up your acne breakouts. Some people think that being rough in their face washing is the best method to get rid of acne, but all this does is aggravate your skin.

The best thing to do is wash your face twice on a daily basis using water that isn't overheated, and a soft, not rough, cloth. You can use over the counter cleansers, but don't use any that are made with harsh agents, as these can make acne worse if you have sensitive skin. Your main goal is to have nice, clean skin and to be as gentle with it as possible. Your very first instinct when you notice adult acne is most likely to pay a visit your pharmacy and buy an over the counter medication for bad acne. Sometimes these products, usually those which contain benzoyl peroxide are very helpful in killing the bacteria that are typically responsible for bad acne.

Many of these products though, unfortunately, were designed to fight teenage, not adult acne. Occasionally, the two aren't really that different and that means on occasion you can use the same products and get the same results. Nevertheless, while teenage acne is typically caused by oily skin, adults usually have combination or dry skin, and this means that most of the typical acne medications will only dry out your skin further. That is why you'll be better off paying a visit to the dermatologist so that you can get an acne medication that is meant for your certain skin type when you are an adult. An all-natural remedy for adult acne that is worth looking into is aloe vera gel, a solution that comes from a tropical plant in the family of succulents.

There are a lot of options for attending to adult bad acne, and not all of the comparable solutions are equally beneficial for every person. If your acne is severe and home made remedies don't work for you, consult with your skin specialist. Nevertheless, the treatments we've described have proven to be useful to lots of people. You really need to start focusing on all of the different aspects of your life from what you added to your body to what you apply to yourself, because any of those things could be contributing to your acne problems. The options in this article are just some of the points that can guide you to cure your adult acne. Adult acne is most certainly troublesome, but it can be cured.

I have had acne since I was a teenager, it did seem to change to cystic acne as an adult. I have been too many dermatologists, been on every topical medication, antibiotic, and acutance a few rounds. It clears up and comes right back. I need help; I would love to become a tester!

I suffered from acne and my dad had it when he was a teenager and then he went on to have adult acne for TWENTY FOUR YEARS. We have tried every treatment you can think of - topical antibiotics, retinoids, clearasil, including even a mustard face pack (really!!!). My face was like a domino's pizza and my dad had pus filled spots on his neck, forehead and around his nose. Some of these treatments helped a little while others made our skin worse. I started using a natural treatment for acne that has geranium oil and jojoba oil (I got it from ebay) and it has been life changing. It also has manuka oil which I have not seen in a skin care product before. My acne has been vanquished and I still use this occasionally if I get a break out. I cannot put into one sentence how great this product has been for me and my acne. My dad followed suit and he has been impressed so far with the results. He only has a few spots left under his chin. I was surprised to find jojoba oil in an acne treatment but when I researched this online there is plenty of good things said about it in relation to acne.

I have been reading quite a lot recently about oil being used for an acne treatment. Was it expensive? Do you use it as a face wash or as a treatment on particular spots? The things i read generally talk about putting it on once a day as a cleanser.

Really interested to hear your experience, when i have chance i will look for it on ebay.

Thanks for everything joeee!!!

I read your comment and searched the web and came across a product by mamas natural called teenagers dream. It has the jojoba oil you mention and even if it is not the same thing you used it has helped with my adult acne no end - i have had this for fourteen or so years and this is the only thing bar none that has ever made any decent impact on it. I would go as far to say that this has made it 90 percent better. My skin greasines is all away and the spots have stopped happening while the existing ones dried up and fell away. I cannot speak highly enough about this.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've also heard a lot of good things about jojoba oil. It contains many of the same fats that normally occur in the skin. And it's supposed to be anti-inflammatory, so not surprised it helps.

As a teenager - i had an oily face and was prone to pimples, the doctor prescribed me Retin-Micro, which gave me flaky skin initially, however when this dose was further reduced my pimples went away and skin got flak free and smooth.
