I am 22 and i have had something happen to my skin last winter and now I have uneven facial skin i'll post pics and you'll be able to see better. I keep my face washed regularly and eat pretty healthy and drink plenty of water but I just cant seem to get rid of the uneven skin or my acne I am starting to think I will never have clear skin. Any suggestions would be grateful thanks!

Hi there!

Have you seen any dermatologists or skin specialists for their opinion? My friend had something similar, and found out it was linked to food intolerances. Same thing apply for you?

Our skin thins out as we age and becomes more sensitive to products, weather or foods. Acne are actually caused by clogged pores that become infected. You can use benzoyl peroxide 2% which kills bacteria and salicylic acid .5% which exfoliates your blocked pores while also calming the redness. Tea tree oil is also great way to treat acne.

Hi Helen, your welcome. I would recommend that you use the benzoyl peroxide 2% which kills bacteria and salicylic acid .5% once or twice a day but for me I used it once a day only at night time. It really cured my acne and I always see to it that I do not sleep without cleansing my face.

Hi Cynosur3,

I had this exact problem in early adulthood.

Try this simple routine that worked for me:

Wash face morning and night. Use an oil-free moisturizer during the day and a heavier one at night. If you get a sweaty face during the day, rinse it with water and use the oil-free moisturizer after.

It's simple and easy but very effective. Stick with it for a month and I'm sure you will see benefits.

Anthony.

Sorry to hear about the problem you have right now. I am soon to be 26 after one month . My acne have developed since I was 15 or earlier . I don't even remember as it has really been bothering me for too long time. During these 10 years acne full of my back ( very serious ) , acne on both of my upper arms , my chest ( small amount of acne , the luckiest part ) , my face ( very serious ) , my neck ( start to have acne in my adulthood ) , my bum ( little serious ) . I fight for it more then 10 years . I tried acne cream but it dry my skin but that time in my teenager time was something more affordable for me. It made my skin become so rough and oily and dry , after that my skin even more acne. I was so depressed that time . I have problem with socialize afterwards . Because my classmate laugh at my acne as my acne was so serious obviously.
Finally I finish education and starts to work . I search online . I met dermatologist and the he gave me some pills to control my oil product ( USD $ 500 / year ) . It change my oil skin a little bit better ( I need to keep myself hydrated as the side effect the pill makes me feel lips dry and skin dry and thirsty all the time) and the scars is obviously full of my body and my face . The dermatologist suggest me to have laser which is good but the ask for USD $ 300 once a month ( so i keep to do it a year only on my face as I can not afford to my body part ) and if i stop it my skin become rough and oily and have acne again . I keep doing it for 1 year but too expensive so I stopped again. Until I find a skin care device which use the light therapy to clear acne and scars ( i bought on €150 that time but if you only have acne get the blue one it's €99 ). I use the blue light therapy twice a week before bed as my acne is quite serious so i would use as much as i could. The red light therapy makes myy oily skin become more hydrated and softer and my skin not dry out like the pills did to me ( which i use once a week in ). The scars fade it quite well now . I don't need to use the foundation to cover my scars any more as right now it's very very light scars at night . And in the day time my face looks like I don't have scars on. I am really happy with my skin now . Sorry for my long story but now I am working as a business woman . My presentable skin helps me to rebuild my confidant a lot . Hope my story would give you some good information.

Good Luck!
xoxo

You should use the cream benzoyl peroxide. It helped me a lot to cure my acne. I used to put it on my skin morning and night. My skin was cleared of acne after that. Dont smother your skin with makeup. It will get worst, I really regret i used too much makeup when I was younger.
What I recommend you now is to take an appointment with a dermatologist, look on Findoc. You will probably find what you need. I recommend you Didier Vochelle who is a very nice specialist.
But my best advice : clean your skin, let it breath, moisturize it and drink water :)

Besides benzoyl peroxide, I'd highly recommend that you check what kind of foods you are eating on a daily basis. I had to deal with acne in my late 20s and after I stopped eating certain foods, my skin became much better than it was.

Try avoiding anything with too much fat like ice cream, chocolate, pork and so on. I know sometimes it's hard, but the effort is certainly worth it! ;)

I had the same problem a few months ago, I consulted a dermatologist and started a treatment based on Benzoyl Peroxide, got great results with a few months of use. Consultation with a dermatologist is very helpful.
