Re: Teenage Acne

I am now in my twenties but i had bad acne as a teenager and eventually got referred to a dermatologist. He was rubbish and what i regret most is not insisting on seeing a different one.

I still suffer with acne now and i wonder how different it may have been if i had seen a good dermatologist so my advice is insist on a referral to a dermatologist and if they don't suit you go back to your GP and explain why you want to see a different specialist.

If your GP refuses see another one but don't back down unless your satisfied with the results. I thought i was old enough to do it alone and wouldn't take my mum but take a friend or relative who will speak up for you and knows what you are going through!

Sophiemadpie i also have tried blemishless. Thinking that it was just going to be another one of those products that look so promising but dont actually do anything. This one doesnt have benzyl peroxide in it which makes it quite gentle on the skin compared to other ones i have used, which just made my skin itchy & irritated.

Re: Teenage Acne

I am using a natural acne treatment for treating my acne. It effectively worked on me, it does not only treat and clear acne but also it leaves my skin soft and smooth as new.

Re: Teenage Acne

i currently am 16 and have had acne since about 14 over the years it has gotten worse every year. you can see the scars of past and the new acne.My condition is severe i dont have it all over but it is concentrated around my cheeks and most of my forehead a little around my chin. My acne is hereditary but i would love for it not to get worst because i have a feeling it will. have tried over the counter medications but nothing worked.

Re: Teenage Acne

Acne has taken so much out of my life up untill about 4 months ago. I had cystic acne from the time i was about 13 untill this year being 23. One thing i know is that we feel funnier about are acne than we need to. Looking back i know it took so much confidence out of me. I couldnt go in the sun for as long because my face would start to hurt and anything that had to do with wearing a helmet like (motocross, bmx and rock climing) would hurt my forehead because my pimples were so sensitive. So many people have the same feelings and i just wanted to say its not your fault. I wish acne wasnt an issue for anyone but it is and people will always have struggles with it. My advise is to just be happy and do what you can. What changed my life with acne was a product called " Clear Complexion B5". ive posted comments about this product a few times already and thats because its the only thing that has given me a new level of confidence. Its a liquid vitamin formulated for acne and skin but keeping the sebum oil in our skin limited. You drink it too so for me that was a big plus because touching my face and shoulders with topical creams and cleansers would hurt and usually made the problem worse or it would help but leave my skin red and swollen. Im not a teenager anymore but i still feel for all those with acne and i know there is a cure.

Re: Teenage Acne

hi...........
friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To get acne free skin, diet of a person plays an essential role. At least six glasses of water, fruits and vegetables and organic food are important. Avoid completely or limit your alcohol intake, avoid lot of tea and coffee.

Re: Teenage Acne

this is about my acne , where its located , its long so im sorry if you get bored because its not really helpful im just telling you about my acne and what ive used.

Im 14 and I've had acne for about 2 years and started around 6th grade. I think mine is based on how my skin is oily. I use Clearasil and it helps with the amount of oil, I use it before I go to bed then wash my face with soap and water in the morning. Clearasil has some kind of cream with Benzoyl Peroxide 10% and it helped with reducing pimple size and redness and I saw good result with whiteheads over night. I used it on my chin and under my nose to keep whiteheads from forming. I think my skin grew immune to it so I've stopped using it as often. I've tried Proactive but like most people it stopped working because I grew immune to it after a month or so. Sometime around last year during soccer and basketball season I started to get acne (not a lot but it got worse) on my back and it made me so depressed and embarrassed although I made sure no one knew. I went to my doctor about 1 year ago and got Tretinoin Cream USP 0.025% . Like a stubborn person I am I started using it this past week. It seems to be helping but im going to continue to use it during the summer to see what happens. Back to my acne on my face. Its not bad but I do get whiteheads more often then not and I have bad blackheads on my nose and the top part of my cheeks. I have little bumps here and there that you cant see which it mainly on my forehead ( which is one of the oiliest parts of my face). Id recommend washing face and trying to find acne treatments that helps you the best.

Re: Teenage Acne

I am almost 18 and I have had acne for 5 years now. My mum and I are very much into natural products and going to the doctor was our last resort. I have severe acne and really bad scarring that covers most of my face, I have tried proactive and every natural product and supplements heard of. For the last 3 months I tried the product pàntothen, but with disappointment I found my skin did not improve! I'm going through a stage where it's really hard to cope, I work with children and lately so many have commented on how ugly I look with all my spots and I'm starting to feel really self conscience around my bf of 3 years. Sometimes I get really upset when I apply my make-up and read magazines that have girls with clear skin, I love natural make-up and skin products and I long for the days I can experiment new looks and see my skin look healthy and glow, rather than focussing on just covering up my make-up. Yesterday I started going on doxycycline and epiduo gel, I'm desperate for it to work, I hate all this waiting and just want clear skin.
