Re: Depression

Hi Forida

Interesting that you say that depression cannot be controlled.

Depression can be caused by lots of different things from mind, gut, surroundings and events present and past. Sometimes we get into a downward spiral and think we cannot get out of the mood surrounding life causing us to be depressed.

There are some medical conditions and medications which also lead us into a path of depression such as thyroid conditions, lack of vitamin D and even the anti depressants themselves. Ongoing stress can be a big factor.

A mix of universal approaches can help with depression. These can include counselling, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), reducing processed foods including sugars, checking nutrient levels through blood tests and generally reducing stress can all help. Its something that has to be worked on daily, dealing with the triggers which cause it. Increasing the intake of healthy foods to improve the gut can also help the brain mood lift. Exercise involving getting out in nature helps lift the mood and increases the blood flow to the brain giving it more energy and focus. Generally being positive and grateful for each day and parking negativity can also help.

Without knowing more information, it would be difficult to say exactly why you are not able to control it. I hope some of these tips given will give you some guidance and some hope. Make sure that you liaise with your GP too or contact a health coach for more guidance to change your habits and behaviours. I'm here and happy to help.
