Fertility problems?

I had undescended testes at birth and had the corrective operation at 8 years old. I’ve not had any issues with my testicles since but was wondering how much it could have affected my fertility?

Re: Fertility problems?

Men who have a history of undescended testicles are more likely to have problems with fertility. However the severity is variable and a bit unpredictable and some men are able to father children.

There is some evidence that surgery to "bring down" the testicles can help to maintain fertility, but nowadays it is general recommended that such surgery is done within a year or two of birth. If you and your partner are having difficulties achieving a pregnancy, you should discuss further with your doctor.
