Will switching to formula help her sleep longer?

I am so sooo tired! My daugher is 6 months old and exclusively breast fed.

The trouble is she barely sleeps at night. Goes to bed at 7.30 but will wake at half 12 and then basically every hour until 6am when she gets up for the day. I'm exhausted. I started weaning her at 5 and a half months thinking that would help but no such luck.

I'm starting to consider moving on to formula now to see if that helps. I'm desperate now so any other suggestions?

Hi,

The Sleep Charity currently only works with families of children age 12 months upwards. Although I can't directly help you with your difficulties right now I can signpost you to some more appropriate sources of help.

It would be a good idea to check out this site https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/ This is a great organisation offering evidence based information around breastfeeding, they offer a helpline too which is open daily. You can find information about the helpline here
https://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk ... helplines/

Another great site to visit is this one https://www.basisonline.org.uk/ BASIS this is an online information source for parents who want to make informed choices about infant sleep and night time care.

Contacting your Health Visitor is also important in order to gain support around feeding.

I hope that information is useful and wish you well,
Vicki
