One side of hair thinner than the other
Hi I’m a 49 year old woman and every time I brush my hair there is a lot of hair on my brush. On the left side of my hairline it seems a lot thinner than on my right side. Is this something that I should be worried about?
Thank you

Hello and thank you for your message.
I think if this change in your hairline and the amount of hair shedding you are experiencing is new then I would advise you see your GP for an initial assessment and preliminary investigations eg blood tests to look for any underlying contributory factors eg nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances ect. If this does not reveal any abnormality I would then advise seeing a dermatologist who can assess your hair and scalp more formally and under magnification.
Best wishes,
