Hello there,

Thanks for posting. Has she been given oral antibiotics from the GP? If she hasn't responded to tablet medication, we can consider her for isotretinoin (Roaccutane). This is a powerful anti-acne medication but can only be prescribed by a consultant dermatologist.

Good luck!

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter acne!
There are a number of treatments available. Topical combination preparations such as Epiduo work particularly well with oral antibiotics and combined oral contraceptive pill. A more effective form of Epiduo - Epiduo Forte just became available. The next step is a very potent but also very effective medication called Roacutane/ isotretinoin. This woould have to be prescribed by a dermatologist. There is more information about acne treatment including Roacutane on my website: https://www.alexandroff.org.uk

I hope this is helpful.
With Best Wishes,
