"Scabby" Scalp

Hi there,
My son has a “scabby” scalp. It’s not dandruff – it’s like the cradle cap scabs that babies get. The only way to get rid of it seems to be to scratch it off (with his fingernails!). He’s had it since he was a boy and I just assumed he would grow out of it. He is now 27 and, on a visit to see me last month I found out he still has it!! What is it and what can he do about it?
Many thanks,
Kim

Re: "Scabby" Scalp

I am so sorry to hear about your son scalp problem. It sounds like he might suffer from psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis. You can ask your dermatologist or GP to prescribe Etrivex shampoo. He can also try T gel and Nizoral shampoos available OTC.

I hope this is helpful.
