Eczema in the ears

Hi have been diagnosed with eczema in both ears. It’s constantly itchy dry and irritated. Sleep is a problem as they itch more when sleeping.
Any advice on new treatments or future treatments. Can my ears be lasered to control dry itchy problem. I’m now got this condition for the rest of my life and it’s depressing and demoralising.

Dear Claire,

Thank you for your question. So sorry to hear how troublesome it is!
I think you may benefit from a skin allergy test called patch test - ask your dermatologist to arrange this for your. You may benefit from a topical steroid treatment such as Eumovate ointment or a non-steroid treatment such as Protopic ointment or Elidel cream. But I am afraid laser is unlikely to help.
