Sun damage

Is it true that you can get sun damage through glass in the summer in the UK?

Re: Sun damage

Hi,

Lots of great questions in this clinic :)

Sun damage can occur through glass throughout the year, even in winter and not just during summer. UVA can penetrate through cloud and glass even on an overcast day. Hence it is important to use a sunscreen with adequate UVA protection (minimum of 4 or 5 star rating or high factor UVA protection) even on a cloudy day if you are outdoors or indoors by a window.

Hope this helps.
