No periods

Having had low oestrogen levels (after being treated naturally for high oestrogen), and low body weight, there's been no menstruation for nine months now... (not pregnant), at age 47. Body weight has now normalised. Will periods return? Or might it blur into perimenopause? Don't know if oestrogen normalised, and don't think it's GP practice to test levels.
Thanks.

Even though your body weight has normalised if you have had no periods for 9 months with no other reason I would presume that you are perimenopausal. There is little point in doing a blood test as even if it did show normal blood test results this could only be for one cycle and you are likely to be hypoestrogenic. I would suggest you consider starting on cyclical HRT until at least 50 to protect your bones and prevent heart disease.
