hi there,

is there any way of assuaging an endometriosis outburst please? my housemate has it really bad and has had 2 operations before and seems to flare up every 4/5 years.

Endometriosis can cause terrible pain and be very unpleasant. The best way of keeping control in a young person and avoiding an operation is to try and take the combined pill continually or with a break every 3 months. Another option would be to try a Mirena IUS as you are trying to avoid the cyclical effects of the normal hormone peaks and troughs. Hopefully it may avoid another flare up!
