Managing adenomyosis

Are there any non invasive treatment options available to manage adenomyosis other than the mirena IUD as an alternative due to the associated side effects of the IUD ?

Re: Managing adenomyosis

The Mirena IUD is the preferred choice but you could consider taking the combined pill continuously for 3 months thereby trying to avoid the fluctuations in your hormone levels. Another option is to use a gnRH analogue for 3-6 months which temporarily stops your hormones working and you can use add back HRT. This can reduce the pain and bleeding but if these are not effective often surgery is the only option.
