steroids

Dr Goldstein carried out a study where he saw that once steroids are applied to the skin, the cells are changed forever and therefore a biopsy needs to be done before any steroid is used - have you seen this as well?

Re: steroids

Topical steroids are anti-inflammatory and yes do change some aspects of cells. However, a biopsy is not always needed before treatment for LS can begin. A biopsy may be required if the condition does not appear to be responding as well as it should. A good pathologist can help interpret a biopsy correctly if they are given the right information from the doctor taking the biopsy.
