Vitiligo and peri menopause

Can vitiligo be stimulated by peri menopause? I have had vitiligo for 30 years with nothing more than the first few patches I started with and now all a sudden it’s spreading at a rapid rate and I’m convinced this is the cause.

Re: Vitiligo and peri menopause

Hi there,
Sorry to hear your vitiligo is more active. It’s difficult to know why the skin’s immune system suddenly shifts - there are so many influences on it and hormones may well be one of these factors. I advise you see your Doctor to talk about potential treatments such as creams or light therapy. Good luck.
