Erythema annular centrifugum

My question is about Erythema annular centrifugum which I've had in my upper inner thigh/groin area and armpits for more than 7 years (I am 47) My dermatologist only diagnosed this recently after going back and forth to various doctors. However he could offer no cure or prevention.

My question is: any idea what triggers it as I have a week or so when I am clear and then I get a large outbreak with lesions one after another? Because if I knew the trigger I.e certain foods etc I would be a bit clearer on how to prevent it.

Any advice on how to stop this frustrating skin disease.

Thanks

Re: Erythema annular centrifugum

Thank you for your question. I am afraid there are no known triggers. Topical steroid preparations can sometimes clear it. I hope this is helpful.
