There are many surgical treatments for BPH: TURP, urethral lift, REZUM, laser etc. Which causes the lowest incidence of side effects and how do you choose which is appropriate assuming you're beyond just drug remedies?

This is not a straightforward question, as side effects are rather dependent on how big your prostate is. Furthermore, fewer side effects made be a trade off if there is also less effectiveness. Finally, tests that compare the tests fairly under equivalent circumstances have not been done.
Lower side effects probably come with Uroloift and Rezum, but these are newer treatments, so full awareness of possible complications is perhaps not yet known.

Hi
As with any new treatment, there is a balance between risk and benefit. Some of the new treatments have low risk of sexual side effect, however long-term follow-up is missing and often a repeat procedure might be needed.
So best to speak to a urologist about the options and pros and cons, before you choose the one you are happy with.
