Re: asthma
Hello applepie and thank you for your post.
Damp can worsen your respiratory condition symptoms as can mould spores in the air. The damp causes excess moisture in the air which can trigger respiratory symptoms. Mould spores, which can be inhaled, cause the body to respond with an allergic type response, again worsening respiratory symptoms.
Asthma UK recommends good ventilation and using a de-humidifier to rid the air of excess moisture, however the efficacy of these methods has not been tested. The website http://www.asthma.org.uk/knowledge-bank ... vironments also gives other ways you can minimise triggers for your respiratory conditions. They also have the Asthma UK Helpline on 0800 121 62 44 where you can talk to an asthma nurse specialist, Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm who may be able to help you further.
NHS choices gives a lot of advice on how to get rid of damp on its common health questions section. Here is a link: http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/How-do-I-ge ... mould.aspx
Some of these tips may be of use to you in your touring caravan.
