Does having cooler showers help with eczema? Also I usually shower once a day, but I did hear every other day may be best – can this help?

Hi Jody,

Thank you for your question. Lukewarm and cooler showers are certainly better for your skin than hot showers as this can make the skin more itchy and contribute to inflammation.

Daily showers are good for keeping the skin clean, however it is best to protect the skin prior to exposing it to water by the application of a soap substitute such as Dermol 500 lotion which has anti-microbial properties. Also, make sure to moisturise straight after showering with a fragrance free cream or emollient.

I hope this helps.
Best wishes
