Do you have to have a biopsy to confirm a diagnosis of LS?

My GP thinks I have LS but hasn't seen me in person and no biopsy done. Should I ask to see a dermatologist with a special interest in LS?

I think it is essential that you are first seen by your GP for a proper examination. Taking a biopsy without a proper history and examination is likely to be less conclusive. Knowing exactly where to take the biopsy is very important. Seeing a dermatologist would enable this to happen if clinically they felt it was necessary.
