Topical Steroid Withdrawal

Topical Steroid Withdrawal is real and recognised by ITSAN and the Eczema Society and BAD.
However it is almost impossible to get a diagnosis. Those of us going through it are dismissed and gaslit by our dermatologists who refuse to even discuss or consider it is happening, yet we know our skin better, having watched rebound after rebound, causing worsening eczema which is eventually skin so addicted to topical steroids that they are required for regular use.

I am not 3.5 years through TSW and getting better all the time. What shocks me is that I've just pretty much been dismissed by my dermatologist as I refuse the treatments he offers. There is no support, no help or guidance and no diagnosis.

Why are dermatologists so reluctant to discuss this with us and help us? I think it's way bigger than we are made to realise and it breaks my heart to see so many going through it every day,. it's growing.

We need something to change is prescribing patterns and I think we would just like to be taken seriously.

Love to hear your thoughts and don't just say TS are safe if used correctly and it's rare. I used them as directed by specialists. Yet it still destroyed my skin. i think Protopic was even more destructive yet we aren't even talking about this. Please don't gloss over this. As professionals you must start to look into this please.
