Nose spots

Since turning 50, I have started to get spots on my nose. These become quite inflamed and painful. The skin on my nose and forehead has started to become very oily. I have tried various over the counter treatments, but without success. Any help would be great, thanks.

Many thanks for your question. I am sorry to hear that you have been troubled by spots on your nose since turning 50. There are a number of conditions that can cause this, but the most common in your age group is a condition called rosacea. Arrange to see your GP to review the rash and discuss treatment options. There are a range of prescription treatments that may help.
