Is ED linked with heart problems/diabetes?

I have read that ED is linked to heart problems and diabetes. Is this true? If so, will I be tested for these conditions when I visit my doctor? Thanks (Peter)

Re: Is ED linked with heart problems/diabetes?

Thank you for the question.

Yes this is true. ED can be an early sign of cardiovascular disease or diabetes.
Yes, all patients with ED will be tested for diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, Testosterone (male hormone) levels and thyroid function tests.
