Common Comordities with Lichen Sclerosus

What are common co-morbidities? Bladder issues, histamine issues etc.

As lichen sclerosus is an autoimmune condition, patients are more at risk of developing other autoimmune disease. The commonest one is thyroid disease as 15-20% of LS patients have this. Vitamin D low levels are also linked to autoimmune disease. There are no other links but as LS presents more commonly in elderly patients, it is worth thinking about conditions that are common after the menopause such as vaginal dryness and récurent urine infections due to the lack of oestrogen changing the vaginal microbiome.
