Trigger for Lichen Scelerosus
There is no history of autoimmune disorders in my family so could my LS have been triggered by overgranulation and trauma of Fenton’s procedure that left further scarring? Thank you - Eileen

Re: Trigger for Lichen Scelerosus
The trigger factors for LS are not currently well understood. However, it is known to occur in areas of trauma/scars, this is known as the 'koebner phenomenon'. This is sometimes seen on non-genital skin too. I'm afraid it is not possible to say whether the Fentons' procedure and subsequent overgranulation/scar was the trigger for your LS developing.
