I can not seem to get the weight off due to birth control!

About 2 1/2 years ago i was forced to be put on birth control. At the time of being put on the depo shot i was around 110-120 pounds. I stayed on the shot for about a year and started to realize that i gained a lot of weight. I then switched to the pill and even gained more. I have been trying to get this weight off for about a year now and its not coming off. I have tried standard diets and diets like the adkins diet and nothing worked. While dieting i was also exercising a lot. And nothing. I am now between 150-160 pounds and i am so uncomfortable with myself. can someone please help me or give me some advice to help me get this weight offffff!!!!
