Re: How To Overcome Depression?

There are a number of things your friend can do to try to overcome depression. Consider exercise like walking or cycling. Consider adopting a new hobby or going out with friends to see a new movie. Consider doing a whole new routine for just one day to break free from the same old stuff. Consider anything natural that helps promote positive feelings.

Re: How To Overcome Depression?

Hello. I suffer from occasional depression and know exactly what your friend is going through.

I have found just sitting with people, eating dinner with family and friends, going for a daily walk, listening to cheerful music, help. I know this isn't expert advice, but little things can ease that depression slightly.

It is wonderful your friend has someone as caring as you. Because depression doesn't just affect the sufferer: it has an impact on everyone around, too.

Just be there and let her take her time. It's hard to watch someone you care for suffer depression, but things can get better.

Your friend is not alone Faith. I think she is fortunate to have you as a friend. Just listen to her and don't pressure her. She needs this time alone to work out her feelings. I feel just offering an olive branch is all you need so. Let her ask for help.

Hi, I'm Faith. I have a friend who extremely felt sadness and loneliness now. she thinks she's alone. she felt worthless. All of her thoughts, feelings are always negative in this world. She's too sensitive to things. She experienced difficulties in sleeping every night which they called insomnia. She also loss her appetite too. How can I help my friend to overcome her depression?
I was sating this while watching a programme on it. You need to be inspiring to her. I do not mean with your life but in words and communication. Encourage her to see a counsellor or therapist.

Re: How To Overcome Depression?

There are many ways to overcome depression disorder. You should do exercise or shouldn't think more that disturb your work. There is not the difference between Depression and Anxiety. Both affect your mental health. You should do exercise, go to natural places like gardens, and fresh air place. Sometimes you need to take a rest. Our body and mind need to take rest sometimes. If you can't follow any of these so, you can take the Etizolam tablet. But, before taking Etizolam you need to talk to your doctor.

I do find going out into the fresh air refreshes me and makes me feel better within myself. I also use a LED light to defeat SAD that hits in winter. I know SAD is different to depression, but the LED light does help. Plus, having people around me - people who are kind and fun - takes me out of myself and lifts my mood.

Depression can be controlled. And not just with medication.

Re: How To Overcome Depression?

Anxiety and Depression are really life-threatening. People don't take it seriously but these can actually lead you to suicide. I had been combating depression for many years. The suffering, the ignorance, and feeling of low self-esteem is so worse. I use to ground myself in my room for days and got totally anti-social. I was recommended Medical cannabis to cope up with my anxiety and depression. Since last year I'm better than before. It's not easy to get rid of something once you are in it. I know Drug addiction can be life-threatening. Never stop using a drug all of sudden. Your body is immune and used to getting a particular dosage of that drug so stoping it can cause major withdrawal symptoms and is very uncomfortable. That is why I didn't rely on opioids for my treatment. I read how experts appreciate medical marijuana for coping up with depression and I took that. Trust me I am much better than before. In fact back to normal. Raise your head, man up, and combat this depression.

Re: How To Overcome Depression?

Depression literally ruins away your mind-affecting not only your mental health also your physical health. I’m also a victim of depression. I’ve drowned myself in work and find distractions so I don’t have to feel any of this. When my mind isn’t occupied then that's when it happens. When I have bad days or when something makes me sad, it’s like I want to just talk to someone about it. It’s tough. Sleeping helps me a lot. I go to sleep with a heavy anxious heart, but thankfully don't wake up that way anymore. it's definitely been really hard to sleep though but definitely, it helps. And to me being anxious is normal.

Re: How To Overcome Depression?

During my treatment for Postnatal Depression, Anxiety and General Depression Disorder, my psychologist worked with me using many useful cognitive therapies. One of them I found hugely effective was the Join the Dots activity which allowed me to write down the thoughts and feelings which were problematic for me and understand what they were in order to ‘catch’ them before they got worse. For me, it was all about recognising and acting on the triggers and the more I could understand what they were and how they made me feel, the easier it was to manage. I use these most days to keep my depression and anxiety in check.
