Memory Loss

Hi

I want to know whether my current level of memory loss is consistent with my age or whether there is cause for more concern.

I have noticed in the last few years that I am becoming more and more forgetful. I lose papers, miss appointments, leave half made cups of tea in the kitchen almost every day. I often wake up in the morning and cannot remember immediately whether I have to go to work or not.

While at work, I often have to fill out records of classes which I have taught, and, if this is not done immediately after a class, I struggle to remember what I did in it. It may be fair to add that I can usually recall my class content after consulting the books which I usually use.

In terms of good memory, I can always remember which classes I am teaching and in which classroom.

I know who I am and who I have around me. It's just small details that seem to escape my mind.

Is there a problem, am I just a bit disorganised or is it due to my age? I am 47.

Re: Memory Loss

Hi,

I would make an appointment with your GP just to let them know and ask their advice. If this is unusual for you its worth checking it over with them.

Let us know how you get on
