Seeking help for addiction is not an easy thing. It takes courage to own up to what you did. SO it is everyone's responsibility to ease the transition for the person who is going through a tough time. Here are some things to do:
1. Give unconditional love
2. Be present 24/7
3. Make them adopt new hobbies.
4. encourage book reading

I agree with you, Tyler Gavin. In fact, I have used the same steps when I've become depressed: and they worked!

Except in extreme cases, these tips will vastly help others.
