Hi, my hubby is suffering from a minor sprain. He had a leg injury two weeks back while playing football. He is a football player in his company team. The doctor suggested wearing a knee brace for two weeks and he prescribed tablets to reduce pain and inflammation. Also, told to ice the injured area to reduce swellings. The doctor is also interested in football. So they quickly became friends and talked a lot about the game. He suggested undergoing physiotherapy treatment at a sports injury clinic in Burlington. He added that this will be beneficial for preventing future injuries and they will train with proper stretching and strengthening exercises. We are planning to undergo this treatment after 3 weeks of resting period. But before undergoing the treatment, I would like to know whether this sprain will occur repeatedly. I heard that this sprain can occur repeatedly if once occurred. If anybody knows about this, please let me know.

Hy ,
Yes, sprain can occur repeatedly, especially during similar physical activity. But Physiotherapy will help relieve this pain. Do follow the exercise routine suggested by the therapist.

This can happen from a fall, twist, or blow to the body, In a mild sprain, a ligament is stretched, but the joint remains stable and is not loosened. ... And a sprained ankle is more likely if you've had a previous sprain there. Repeated sprains can lead to ankle arthritis, a loose ankle or tendon injury.
