Sore lymph glands in neck

I have many of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, including a greatly slowed metabolism, which has played havoc with my digestion, and causes a lot of wind. Also the lymph glands on one side of my neck go up and down. I am sore down the side of my windpipe and my salivary glands are affected and I get a dry mouth. Has anyone heard of this?

HypERthyroidism usually causes an increase in metabolism (not a slowing) but can affect the digestive system. There is increased speed of gastric emptying and diarrhoea. There may be more 'wind problems' that you have had.
Swelling of the lymph glands is unusual but can occur. The dry mouth may be part of Sjorgrens syndrome (an autoimmune disease affecting salivary glands and the ability to produce tears) which may be associated with thyroid autoimmune disease.
The precise cause of the hyperthyroidism should be investigated and tests done for Sjorgrens.
