Neck swelling please advise.

My neck is swollen down one side from under my ear to my shoulder it feels really hard there's no obvious lump, also have a feeling of fullness in my throat and my lymph glands are swollen, my Dr examined my neck and couldn't find anything but I'm still worried because the swelling squashes a vein in my neck and not everything can be felt through physical examination. I have hashimotos and have never had ,a thyroid scan Can you please advise?

This sounds not related to your thyroid and if the feeling continues you need further investigation eg chest xray
