New to this site

I am new to this site and want to talk to others about having psoriasis. I've had it for about 10 years and although it's mild it gets me down. My doctor doesn't seem to take the situation seriously. I feel I need to talk to others who understand. I seem to have tried everything - is there anything anyone has tried that has worked? Any tips would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Hi, have you tried a dermatologist - I am sure a practitioner likes this would take your condition seriously. I am lucky my doctor is very sympathetic. This site might be able to help you: http://www.dr-search.co.uk/specialists/ ... ogist.aspx. Let me know how you get on.

Hello,

Well I guess you should ask your doctor for the treatment. However, I'd appreciate if you can change your diet and stick to veggies. More over you can use some shampoos for the treatment:

Hope this will help!

Cheers!!!

Hello, people from TalkPsoriasis!

I'm new here, and I'm not suffering with psoriasis. I'm just a medicine student looking for the best information about this disease, that intrigued me a lot, because I like to study auto-immune diseases.

Re: New to this site

Hi Im new to this site - have been suffering from psoriasis of the scalp for about two years - have now been prescribed Xamiol gel - got it today - not looking forward to using this as it means I will have to apply it every night and wash my hair every morning. With my scalp being so sore this is going to be a problem. Is there anybody else using this medication - I would like to know how they are getting on with it.

Re: New to this site

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site too.

Although I'm a P sufferer myself - both guttate and plaque, I've been pretty much clear for years and years now (Dithrocream has always worked for me). I'm mainly here now because of my 6yr old daughter who is suffering absolute chronic P at the moment. It started 7 months ago with guttate, and after being fobbed off for months by the GP we're finally seeing a Dermatologist. She became suddenly clear for a few weeks and had a huge rebound and now has plaque psoriasis about 10 x worse than before. We're waiting for UV light treatment.

I'm in a very dark place with it all at the moment. I feel quite guilty she has inherited this from me only worse than I've suffered. She's so young it breaks my heart. I don't expect her to be free of P for life - i just want some relief and for her maybe to get to a point like me where she just has the odd patch.

Hi Warbie - just posted to another of your posts - but just seen this one - so sorry to hear about your daughter - absolutely dreadful. UV treatment totally worked for me - but clearly I am a lot older than your daughter - I really hope it helps her - as its not a great thing to face as child growing up - there are enough problems out there without having to worry about your skin etc etc....Best wishes
