The doctor-patient relationship - seen from both sides

The British GP Dr Denise Adams has experienced both sides of the doctor-patient relationship as she had thyroid and parathyroid surgery and ended up with hypoparathyroidism (which has fortunately since been cured). She was unprepared for the 'roller-coaster' of recovery. When she was well enough to do so, she wrote about her experiences and gave some in my personal opinion really valuable insights into how to interact with our doctors, which are relevant for those of us with thyroid or parathyroid disorders and probably a great many other chronic and debilitating disorders. There is a link to her article A Doctor's Personal Experience of Hypoparathyroidism on the website of our affiliated organisation Hypoparathyroidism UK - http://hpth.org.uk/resources.php?id=3.
