Intolerance to onion

Hi I suspect that I have an intolerance to onions and onion variants. Every time I come into contact with certain variations of onions (garlic, normal onions, leeks, and their powdered forms). After eating usually within the hour I get terrible stomach cramps and have to go to the toilet and do a very loose bowel movement type 7 with a distinctive smell (sorry for being so graphic) which relieves the cramp. However usually the morning after I wake up with a really dry mouth and strong oniony taste, which is pretty bad tasting. Strangely some types have no effect such as shallots or chives. I am quite confused by the whole thing and find it extremely difficult to avoid especially the powdered forms and garlic

Re: Intolerance to onion

It would be a good idea to ask your GP to put you in touch with a registered dietician who could go through teh do and don'ts to help manage this a bit better.
