Three Years and Nothing

My boyfriend and I were having unprotected sex for nearly three years and we couldn't get pregnant. Due to changes in our circumstances I have gone back on the pill to control my painful periods but I was wondering how we would go about getting fertility tests? I know weight, smoking, diet etc can effect it but those are all things that I can change. I just want to be sure there is nothing major wrong with us. I have spoken to my doctor but as I am on the pill he seemes unwilling to discuss it with me.

Re: Three Years and Nothing

Your boyfriend coulkd have a sperm test, which his doctor should be able to organise through a local fertility clinic. Baseline tests on yourself would include assessment of egg production, which cannot be done while on the pill, and tubal patency testing. The fallopian tubes should only be tested (again through a fertility clinic) if the sperm test is normal.
I hope that this helps.
