Erectile dysfunction
Hiya
Wondered if anyone can help - I'm running out of things to try and its having an effect on my sanity.
I've struggled for an erection for the last 8-10 months ever since the breakdown of my marriage.
I simply cannot get aroused very easily - the only way I can is if I am laying on my back and masturbate very hard.
Once hard if I stop the erection goes very fast and I need to start from scratch again.
When I masturbate its as if there is a block - physical or mental, which stops me getting hard. Once I get over that barrier I get hard very quickly (blood flows in fast !) and orgasm almost instantly.
I get no erections any other time - i.e. in the morning or night
I was on antidepressants 2 months ago but came off as they made the problem worse.
I've tried counselling, a range of anti -ds, Viagra (helps to a point but I dont want to take this) I just want to get aroused.
I'm guessing my libido is shot to pieces or there may be a problem internally (causing the block)
Any suggestions would be greatly received !!!!
Jimmy

Hey Jimmy,
Man... given that the divorce was so recent it sounds like the problem could be more mental than physical. Not knowing your exact situation it's tough to judge, but it seems like it might be best to just relax and give it some time. 8 -10 months isn't that long to get over a marriage breakdown. Perhaps the erectile dysfunction is your body and mind telling you to relax for a bit so that you can recover from the breakup. I know I'd want a bit of a breather.
Are you seeing a therapist? If I am way off base that it could be more of a mental problem, and you don't want to take viagra, have you tried natural remedies in place of viagra?
Anyway, hope that helps.

Hey Jimmy
I agree that this sounds like a more mind-related thing than physical; I remember the same issue when my marriage broke down many years ago. It did pass though, after around a year.
But more recently I had blood-pressure issues, and any amount of tiredness and stress from work, making erections rare and only "semi". Like you, masturbation was a frustrating exercise that only reinforced the problem..
A trip to my GP did wonders. I too did not want to take Viagra, but changes to life/work-style were not an option. He suggested either Sildenafil just before planned "action" or, more usefully taking a daily dose of Tadalafil for "spontaneous" action without having to wait for the pill to work.
Honest-to-God, this has transformed things. I now experience the same nightly and morning erections I used to as a young man ( ie without stimulation ) but my "on-demand" erections are always possible and long-lasting.
Speak to your GP mate; it really works and once you experience it you can get over the hang-ups of pills; completely understandable as that is. I never took pills for 40 + years for anything, but accept that sometimes the mind wants what the body has parked-up...
Hope that help buddy.

A Brief Look at Erectile Dysfunction
ED is when you are not able to get an erection for you to have sex. At times, you might even get an erection, but you still might not be able to keep it up long enough for you to be able to have sex. And then, there is also the chance that you get an erection, and you do manage to have sex, but as you Suffering from ED Impotence in men, you are not able to give your partner sexual satisfaction.
Erectile dysfunction is caused when the blood flow to the penis does not take place properly. And also, as a result of the blood vessels not correctly expanding and contracting. And because of this, you are not able to get a hardon, or if you are, you are not able to keep it up long enough so that you can have sex.

Thanks for the replies
Special thanks to you sparkyjon !
I started taking tadalfil a couple of weeks ago thanks to your suggestion and I’m absolutely staggered at the results ! I can get hard like I never have before. They sometimes feel a little fake if that makes sense but I’m not complaining and the gf certainly isn’t.
The dr also booked me to to see a urologist but there is a long wait of 20 weeks but in the mean time I’ll keep on the tadafil
Thank you everyone !

Re: Erectile dysfunction
Hi!
Im 29, and I had the same problem for years. I am fixed now.
Masturbation and depression are killers. Stop masturbating and research NO FAP on reddit. It is a community of people with the same issues. Saved my life.
Porn and jerking off will kill your erection. If I abtain for a few weeks, my erection comes back great.
Also meditate, and address the other issues in your life. Erectile dysfunction is not your problem, rather it is a side effect of your other issues.
I realsied this when I saw a sex therapist. Changed my life.
Meditate, excercise, and eat healthy. Abstain from jerking off, and you will get your mojo back. I swear!

Re: Erectile dysfunction
When you say FAKE, are you saying the erections don't feel natural? When I turned 44 last year, my erections totally changed; not as firm as before, no spontaneous erections, not staying firm. My urologist said it happens at this age, but I just don't buy that! Literally, I used to have erections like I was 18 prior to age 44 and they just stopped. I started taking sidenafil and sometimes cialis, but as you stated, the erections don't feel natural. I thought it was just me that was thinking that way. Of course the erections are amazing but it seems it takes FOREVER to ejaculate and it just doesn't feel like the real deal. I thought that was all in my head. I've got to figure out what's different since I turned 44. I am not buying that this happens as we age. As a child I would walk in by mistake on my grandparents doing their business and my grandfather was almost 70 and I'm sorry but he didn't seem to be having issues! Re: Erectile dysfunction
Depression is one of the reasons for erectile dysfunction in men. Masturbating too much time is also harmful to get a proper erection.

Re: Erectile dysfunction
If you lack sexual desire, then that might be the reason why ED medicines are not working for you. Viagra and Vardenafil 20mg like medicines need sexual desire to work efficiently. For improving your sexual desire, you can make some lifestyle changes. Keep yourself active and follow a good diet. Avoid smoking or drinking excessively. If still there is no improvement, consult an expert.
