Advice: Foreskin and Head problems.

Hi, I'm a 16 year old boy turning 17 in July. I've experience foreskin problems perhaps all my life, but I've never really done anything about it. When my penis is flaccid, I can pull my foreskin back properly, as well as when it semi-hard. However, when it is erect I cannot pull my foreskin back as it is too tight - I feel as though I could however I cannot bring myself to do it.

The next issue is that the head of my penis is very sensitive and I cannot touch it if my foreskin is retracted otherwise it will sting. Is this because I don't pull my foreskin back often enough? I don't really pay much attention to cleaning it either because it stings too much.

I have now started to pull my foreskin back every time I'm in the shower, which is twice a day, and I also run water over the head to try and start making it less sensitive? I know I sound really stupid but honestly, I am very unexperienced in penis health unfortunately. If anybody could suggest some help please. If you have any questions that you need to ask to understand my situation better, feel free.

Re: Advice: Foreskin and Head problems.

Hi j0sh68853,

Welcome and thank you for posting on the forum about your symptoms. Hopefully other members will be able to help you.

As this has been a longstanding problem of yours, we would urge you to visit your GP in case there is something that they need to investigate.

In the meantime, please find some info below that could help explain your issue:
