Playing It Safe--Advice

I am hoping some of you experts can offer me some advice. I want to "play safe" and try to minimize exposure to STD/STIs. It may sound odd, but when I have a meet up with a woman I often keep my underwear on and have them dry hump me in my underwear. I know this will prevent fluid to fluid STIs. But i still have some concern about skin to skin STIs (specifically HSV and HPV). If i tough her inner thigh and butt area (without direct contact with vagina or anus) what is the risk of acquiring HSV from touching those areas if she is HSV positive. If i had a cut on my finger would i catch HSV with a breakout on my hand? Or could it enter my hand and cause a breakout on my genitals? Just trying to understand the risk of my behavior. Thank you in advance for any thoughts or advice anyone has.
