Painful Mole?

I've always had a fairly large mole on the top of my arm, close to where I had my booster shot when I was little. Recently it's started stinging or becoming achy or itchy. It's not all the time, the majority of the time I forget it's there but it's started happening more recently.
I've always asked my mum whenever I see her "do you think this mole is bigger?" but she says it's still the same as always.
I'm 23, fairly fair skinned and I have some but not many moles. I lived in the south of Spain for a year so I've had quite a lot of sun exposure.
Also does anyone know where you can get moles checked for free? I know a couple of pharmacies used to do it but I don't know if they still do.

As you are faired skin with moles and having lived abroad, i would suggest that you see your GP to have the mole on your arm checked. If your GP is concerned he may refer you to a dermatologist who will look at you all over. Meanwhile, it maybe an idea to take a photo of the mole on your arm with a tape measure beside it which will help you decide whether it has changed or got bigger, this can be used for future reference.

Hi there,
I would definitely agree with Deborah's advice and get it checked by your GP. If they are worried they can refer you, and you could be seen by a dermatologist 2 weeks later. I wouldn't recommend visiting a pharmacy with a changing mole, it is much safer to pay a visit to your GP who can direct further care if needed.
