Lump under my birthmark

Lump under my birthmark
I have a medium Congenital melanocytic naevi (CMN) birthmark on my forearm (it's approximately 12cm across at its widest). I got very sunburnt on Saturday and have now noticed a lump about 1.5cm in diameter underneath the skin on the border of my birthmark, the skin above the lump is slightly warmer than the skin around it and the lump itself is hard and it isn't painful when touched but it does cause a little discomfort.
I just wanted to know if this was something that I needed to get checked out by my GP (and how urgent this would be) or whether i'm being a little paranoid?
Thank you.

Re: Lump under my birthmark
hello,
this may be a coincidence that the lump appeared after sunburning
It may be a epidermoid cyst, aslo known as sebaceous cyst or an inflammatory nodule - boil. If this does not settle down in the next couple of days, you may have an infection & may need to seek medical advice therefore you may wish to make an appointment with your GP.
Hope this helps
