2yo child (girl) that has eczema - advice

Dear all,

I'm new to this forum. I have a 2yo child (girl), that has eczema on legs and arms. In particular at arm pits, front of thighs and popliteals, see image of front of thigh: Image.

It varies and tend to be much worse during autumn/winter (northern hemisphere with cold and humid). We have tried to avoid food such as tomato, bananas, citrus, chocolate and paprika. We have tried different creams and ointments (e.g. calendula, honey, high fat creams, olive oil). Off course cortisone cream works, but we will rather try to find the cause and not being dependent on cortisone.

We are still experimenting with leaving out different food. Although, I suspect that there might be molds in our house that cause this. Although we cannot see or smell mold in the rooms we use, but there is mold in the cellar. More precisely in the cellar roff in the area around the pipe penetration (kitchen and bathroom).

We will be happy to get advice on how to deal with this and how we should proceed.

Best regards

Hi there, I know it's difficult to find the trigger of eczema - have you considered allergy testing? It would help to narrow down the possible causes and give you some direction on what measures to take. Common triggers like house dust mite, mold, cat and dog dander are usually included in the skin prick test.

Also consider reducing the staph bacteria via swimming (test for 10 mins first to see if your child can tolerate the water and go only when not sunny) or using anti-microbial wash once a week. Wet wrap helps if your child's skin is dry. You may also want to try out pharmaceutical brand creams, esp those with ceramides or lipids as they help combat dryness better. They are also less likely to spoil vs natural oil/cream which if you're using, you'd have to check the expiry date.

Take care,

My 1 year old is starting to get eczema, I was looking for something different and stumbled upon foderma serum... I gave my son a bath and put foderma serum on his dry areas then to bed when we woke up the dry patches were 90% gone!

I have been suffering from terrible eczema for the past four years and prescription medications help control it, but not well. Foderma serum has almost cleared my skin in only a few weeks. It soothes the itching and I only have to use steroids occasionally now. I would recommend foderma to anyone with dry sensitive skin.

I have had both children suffer from eczema, and heard several times that shea butter was a good natural treatment.

Read a few reviews and one today on this https://lastreviewed.wixsite.com/home/s ... y-Dry-Skin

Has anyone used Shea Butter with any success?

My son was about 6 months when he showed signs of eczema. It got pretty bad and I was very hopeless after my doctor told me it was normal and not good related. After months of sleepless nights for both of us and bloody wrists and behind his knees I decided enough was enough. I researched and landed on a YouTube channel that cured my boy almost completely. We both sleep much better and his skin is soft and clear. The initial relief we discovered was using topical things...Butt Paste mixed with Triple Antibiotic ointment and Benadryl extra strength ointment. Works wonders for almost instant relief and clears the redness overnight. The final thing which seemed to cure him was...<drumroll please>...Raw Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar from Braggs. Safe for all. Mix 1tsp. for every 8oz bottle with Apple juice and water. Taste to make sure it's not too strong. Add water or juice if so. Do this 3x a day. I also would put a 1/4 cup of it into his baby tub and let him soak for about ten minutes and don't rinHooff just towel dry. Apply ointments. And also if feet are an issue apply super thick amounts and then place socks on. We had him in socks 24/7. Also long comfy lounge pants work best and make sure everything even blankets are 100% cotton. Also we tried just washing his clothes in plain hot water with no soap. Everything matters. We also omitted dairy and didn't let him drink tons during meals as this can disrupt the good acids in the stomach. Good luck and email me if this helped. I would like to know.
