Trembles after scratching.. is it normal?

Hi, I was hoping to get some advice on my toddler's (2 year old) eczema.

He scratches himself so much and vigorously (usually making it bleed in several places too 🥺) that he sort of trembles involuntarily after. It lasts 15 mins longest but usually it's just for a few minutes. We've tried everything to get him to stop scratching but once he starts, it's hard to get him to stop. GP and hubby seems to think that the shakes are just him getting himself worked up. If that's all it is, that's fine, but I'm just worried it might be something more serious. His body tends to be warm too (while his hands and feet are normal temperature), GP says that's not uncommon and that the trembles may be triggered from the warm temperature of his body. (GP suggested paracetamol if his body feels really warm.)
When his body is trembling, he can still talk (albeit a bit shaky) and is very much conscious and aware. Is this common/something that happens with toddler eczemas or should I worry? I'd really appreciate it if you could put my mind at ease.

Thanks so much!

Re: Trembles after scratching.. is it normal?

Hi! I haven't heard of that nor had my child experience that.. not sure if it's stress but I think monitor for bacterial infection, and maybe try something like watching sign language video to de-stress and keep the fingers occupied? Helped my kid when she was at age :)
Take care.. and I suppose it's worth seeing a specialist if you're worried, they may have seen more cases and more aware than a GP, sending hugs!
