Sorry to hear that. I know what she can feel,I also had a bad eczema on my lower leg. For me the salt helped! I have been in the Salt Cave clinic. They doing natural salt therapies. I had 12 session so far, its gone almost completely! I think you should give a go with it!

Good luck!

Re: Daughter is fed up with eczema

My 2nd baby is 6 weeks old today. She has eczema since 3 weeks old. With a bad eczema experience with my first baby who is now 7, i didnt hesitate to go to GP straight away, She was given Oilatum jr cream.. it ddnt work initially as her eczema got worse and flared up badly on her face body and legs(.I was so upset as we had a bad experience with our first child i had to take her to the doctor and emergency room every other day because her eczema was either weeping or infected) So this time with the second child ,i want to prevent things to happen like before.Hence, Upon returning to the GP, she was prescribed hydrocortisone 1%. I applied it for 7 days and the moisturiser every 3-4 hours or each time i change her nappy. I also changed our laundry powder to Surcare and iron all her clothes. after two weeks of doing all these, her skin improved dramatically and shes now a happy baby. i think the key is patience to apply moisturiser round the clock until the skin improves. Im hoping for the best for you and your daughter. hang in there.

Hello, is your daughter being treated by a hospital dermatologist or just your GP? Anna

Re: Daughter is fed up with eczema

Hi, my daughter is eleven soon and she has eczema since she was a baby. We have used so many different creams including steroid creams. She gets so down about her eczema and I get so upset for her. She just wants it to go. It seems to have got worse recently as well. We are always up the doctors. My daughter is also allergic to animals, grass and dust mites, pollen. Her school is not supportive at all. Can anyone help or is anyone in the same position.
Many thanks

Re: Daughter is fed up with eczema

Sorry to hear that. My daughter is still in preschool, and the teachers are pretty supportive. What areas of support are you looking for in your daughter's school? For me, I provided them with the lotion, let them know what to avoid for her, and some distraction toys from scratching when she was younger. seemed to work out ok.

Hope she gets better soon, hugs,

Thanks for dropping the encourage note tatudharma :)

Was wondering if the foods that are restricted is at the advice of specialist after allergy testing? It must surely be difficult to eliminate so many foods!

Hugs,
