Eczema/Iron deficiency?

Hi everyone, first time here....Has anyone heard before of eczema being worse if you have an iron deficiency? I only ask as I saw it on the TV the other night suggesting low iron would 'cause' bad eczema...

Hi

That is really freaky timing. I have just been talking today to my daughters pre school and family about the health of my daughter as I feel she may be anemic? She is just so tired and pale and eczma really troubling her sleep. Something is really bothering her.

My daughter is 3 and a half and drank (alot!) of formula milk until she was 3, which contains loads of iron, and still has ezcema. So not sure if there is a connection but that's my feedback.

Re: Eczema/Iron deficiency?

I know a friend of my son who is in the same class and under the same dermatologist has low iron and on medication for it. I think from what his mum said is that low iron can make you itch?? Not sure but there is a link as his dermatologist ordered blood testsbased on his iron count.

Low iron is one factor of eczema.
