Delusions

If you have the insight to know thoughts you have are weird and not rational, but they are persistent nonetheless, does this preclude them from being delusional ?

Re: Delusions

No. A lot of people with delusions know the thoughts / perceptions are probably abnormal. Such insight may help - you may be more amenablte to help with cognitive therapy though drug treatment should still be considered.
Please see your GP.

Re: Delusions

Hi, I am bipolar 1 w/ psychotic ideations and I know my ideations are
delusional and that is a good thing. i often need to check myself out
or my wife will poke me and let me know I am off base a bit. :o

I can be delusional and I know it but I am also on Risperidone and that
helps a lot and I agree with Dr. Jackson.
